Happy Spring Equinox! Happy New Beginning! Happy Transformation!

WOW... What a week!

Spring has sprung...We welcome the Equinox!  Our New Moon is in Pisces and as if that wasn't enough excitement, we have also had a Solar Eclipse!

Pisces energy encourages us to dream and envision what we can contribute to create the world that we WISH to live in. Simple acts of kindness~including ourselves~ the focus should be as we heal, we help others to heal.

This is arguably the most powerful week of 2015 in astrological terms. This is a time of choosing new options and of releasing the old, the outdated and what no longer serves us. Think "breakthroughs and insights."

The eclipse portal is opening and will last the entire lunar cycle and the will be followed by a lunar eclipse on April 4. With 2 eclipses back to back, we have a very powerful cycle.

This particular eclipse happens to be in the last degree of Pisces, also known as the Omega degree. This degree brings to a close great cycles of time and changes to major life themes and patterns.

Use this time to set intentions~ to manifest. Focus on the things and the energy that you want to bring into your life. Spend time writing your goals and dreams. We have opportunity every lunar cycle for new resolutions. Make one of them acts of kindness~

Bright Light and Big Love!

Looking Deeper at the 10 of Swords (OUCH!)

Card of the Week:

10 of Swords

Key Words: Enlightenment, turning point, feeling back-stabbed, martyrdom, exaggerated self pity, feeling life is against you, playing the victim and cutting through the illusion.

OUCH! This particular 10 is an alarming card to draw in a layout, but it isn't quite as bad as it looks. There are many interpretations of the 10 of Swords, because it is one of the most powerful and complex cards in the deck. So lets take a deeper look to gain a better understanding of this seemingly sad... almost painful card.

One of the best and nicest things I can say right off the bat about this guy is that like all tens, this card  indicates the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one. It may not sound like much, but it is powerful and here's why:

Before you can embark on this new journey or new beginning, you must liberate yourself from old patterns of behavior that no longer serve you, drop all of your emotional baggage and say good- bye to the old you. This is the time to finally rid your life of all of that unnecessary clutter. Things feel bad right now...we have all been there, but if you look at the message in this card as one of enlightenment, you then put yourself in a position of running your own show. You can get to a place of regaining your authority on YOU. Grab a broom...sweep the crap out of all of your corners and put your stuff and the stuff that you have let others leave behind into a dustpan and discard... once and for all.

Sometimes we all have to accept our illusions for what they are. But even the act of being disillusioned can only lead to a new self awareness. This is the time to look forward and to finally put the past behind you. It is often at the point of descending into the depths that you must realize that the only way out... is up.

The final message of the 10 of Swords is simple: It sucks right now, but you are almost through it. Tens signify completion and the cycle end...this card does in fact indicate a turn for the better. Hang in there!

Big Love and Bright Light!

It's a Full Moon kind of weekend!

The Full Moon in Aries will occur tonight at 11:19 PM EST.

So what exactly does this mean for us and what can we expect?

Without getting too astrologically scientific, this Full Moon does have significance for all of us.

Traditionally, the Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. Its an emotional time...a time of romance, fertilization and relationships. There is polarity with this Full Moon which urges us to strike a balance between meeting our personal needs and tending to the needs of others.

The Aries Full Moon is self assertive, leading and personally courageous. It values authenticity over tact and is energized by independent efforts. Tonight's Full Moon is all about emotional declarations. Something of a personal nature may be building inside of us and now is the time that the energy of the universe demands that we let it out! We will feel what this "something" is during the next 2 weeks.

You may find creative bursts seemingly coming out of nowhere. Go with it! This is an amazing time to be creatively inspired. We might also see people coming back from our past for further review.  We will all experience realizations of what is working and not working for us. Our priorities may seem to shift as we are preparing for the turn of the year.

The time is now to express ourselves and to let things out of our system. Get rid of the things that do not serve you anymore. Surrender to the sweet release and accept the new positive energy to come your way and fill you up to the tippy~top.

Many Full Moon Blessings!

Big Love and Bright Moon Light!

Happy Fall Equinox!

I am absolutely giddy with Autumn Awesomeness!!!

It's time to say goodbye to the long, hot, humid (i'm in Florida...humidity is a season here) days of summer. So long Summer~ and a big hearty WELCOME, HELLO, HOWDY, BONJOUR, HOLA, CIAO, and WHAT UP to the fantastical Fall Equinox!

I love everything about fall...the cooler days, the longer nights, the rich colors everywhere, the hustle and bustle of nature preparing herself for another winter season and candy corn...I heart candy corn! I also love this time of year because it is such an important point in the cycle of the universal flow.

The Fall Equinox marks a moment of balance, after which the nights become longer again. Change is upon all of us and the Fall Equinox holds the balance between light and dark, harvest and sacrifice and attachment and release. The fall season reflects what is shifting in this moment. Astrologically, the planets have aligned to facilitate the dissolving old forms, patterns and the release of old ways. We are pushed to go within~ to take a deeper look at ourselves and to gain a better understanding of change.

This time can be used to wake up, to be present, to be be authentic. It challenges us to dig deep to find what keeps us from our true authenticity, what points of view or beliefs limit us, what keeps us from opening doors and opening to possibilities.

Fall Equinox calls upon us all to stand up and get back into alignment with nature, with our values and above all else...with our truest selves.

Wishing you all a miraculous season of change!

Happy Fall Equinox!

Big Love and Super Bright Light!

"So, does this stuff really work?"

If I was given a nickel for every time I was asked that question....well, I would have a lot of nickels.

Every reader has heard that question dozens of times. I was asked this again last night by a new client and my higher self made a HUGE note on my invisible blackboard (in pink chalk~ I heart pink) that I should blog about how "this stuff really works."

To get our amazingly brilliant, beautiful minds around this...we have to dive into the deep end. Are ya with me? Take a deep breath....Let's do this~

Tarot is a divination tool. To "divine" is to foresee or to foretell. Many cultures throughout the ages have used divination to take a gander at both the present and the future using anything from tossed twigs, coins and tea leaves, to patterns in puddles after the rain. The desire to know what will be is  a very strong human drive.

We seem to have lost the awareness that there is something "other," a connecting force that permeates all life and all existence. Think in terms of  ENERGY.... this connecting force includes the random shuffling and choosing of the Tarot cards. There is an ancient and universal belief that everything in the Universe is interconnected and that the events and patterns in a person's life are all part of an invisible force.

The seemingly random choice of cards at any one moment is a powerful signifier of the meaning of that moment. It is almost as if the cards pick you, just as you pick the cards. We all project unconscious issues onto objects in the environment. We perceive reality through the tinted lens of our own nature. And we similarly project our inner issues onto each Tarot card. Yet there is a message in every symbol and meaning behind every single image in the Tarot. In return, the cards have the ability to awaken us to the powerful patterns in human nature that gives us the answers and solutions that we already unconsciously knew, but didn't dare to believe possible.

The tarot works because it plays the chords that resonate within your soul. It is in essence, the music of your higher self...

I like to use the mirror analogy when explaining Tarot. Your projections about love, life and hopes and fears are cast onto the cards as they are the glass of the mirror. What you are actually reading in conjunction with the apparent random choice of cards are all of those projections thrown back at you in a secret language which your reader will help you understand. Because of its objectiveness...Tarot always tells the truth.

Still with me???

Deliciously deep, right???

Every card tells a story about our own personal journey at any given moment of time, and the interpretation and association with the symbols expand the tale. You are the creator of that journey. You are the writer of your story. You are the poet, the mastermind, the lyrical genius of each and every chapter of your very own novel.

So, umm...yeah...this stuff really works :)

Tarot~My First Love

I'll never forget when we met...

We were introduced by a mutual friend who's Mom happened to have a lovely deck that looked barely touched.  I was told that this "magical" deck of cards was only brought out for parties and special occasions.  Much like the good dishes in the china cabinet, these cards seemed to spend most of their time on a shelf.

That summer, my friend and I spent countless hours shuffling, dealing, gazing at, memorizing and even playing "go fish" with that deck of colorful cards that neither of us understood, but wanted to learn more about. Every single day I looked forward to running to her house to play our card game. I was drawn to them, I felt a certain kinship when they were in my hands. I began to understand what the symbols and the colors were trying to say. They wanted to be heard, to be validated, to be understood and I was determined to learn to speak in their language.

I bought my first deck of Tarot cards with the money I earned from babysitting when I was 15. I had the sense that my VERY Catholic parents would not approve of my choice for a summer activity, so Tarot and I began our secret relationship.

I didn't have any books to tell me how to use the cards. It was hard enough for me to find a secret hidey place for my deck, let alone having an array of books that would reveal my first summer crush. I taught myself  how to understand what Tarot was whispering to me through it's lovely symbolism and use of numeric notations. It began to make sense...a great deal of sense. I found I could pass along the messages of the cards quite accurately to those who had questions. Tarot and I were definitely in sync. We no longer had a language barrier. We were inseparable that peas and carrots.

Since then, our relationship has only deepened. Sure we have gone through our periods of breaking up. I wasn't always a good listener. I wasn't always disconnected enough emotionally to read clearly for myself. I wanted what I wanted and that was that. Tarot didn't respond well to my outbursts of stomping my feet and pouting my lower lip in order to get my way.  Instead it had a persistent way of making me look at myself which at certain points in life is rather hard to do.

In my 20's Tarot and I decided to take our relationship to the next level. It was after our most recent separation due to marriage and demands of raising a family that I found myself lost and lonely for my old friend. I took my Tarot out of its box, unwrapped its lovely silk scarf and right then and there I made a commitment to my cards to never stop learning along this journey. And in return Tarot also made a commitment to never stop teaching me.

I have been a student ever since :)

in love and light~
